India's Youth Unleashes Fury on the Streets: The Cockroach Janta Party's Hunger for Change The streets of India are once again echoing with the chants of a restless youth as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) intensifies its protest against what it sees as the government's failure to address the country's deepening economic and social woes.
At the epicenter of this movement is Sonam Wangchuk, a 32 year old activist who has been on a hunger strike for 21 days, refusing to eat until his demands are met.
The CJP's protest took a dramatic turn last week when Abhijeet Dipke, the party's founder, was splashed with ink by police as he began a fast in solidarity with Wangchuk.
